TSA officers in Norfolk stop man trying to bring gun on a plane

Richmond, Va. (WRIC) — TSA officers stop a man at Norfolk International Airport after they detect a handgun in his bags at the security checkpoint.

Officers say the man had a 9 millimeter caliber handgun with 48 rounds of ammunition in his possession. TSA then contacted Norfolk Airport Authority Police.

Because of the type of case and lock the man had, he was then allowed to go back to the check-in counter and check the gun.

TSA officers remind travelers that they cannot bring a gun in their carry-on.
