Sixth Mount Zion Church raises near $10,000 for outreach programs

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — One local church’s Sunday service has taken on a whole new meaning.

This Sunday, Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Church set out to serve the entire Richmond metro area.

Together, the church has raised upwards of $10,000 for outreach efforts including making home improvements for senior citizens and handing out bus passes.

“We pretty much follow the bible and put our hands and feet to action and this is what we do. There is no worship service going on in our building, all of our members are serving,” said Pastor Tyrone Nelson.
