RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Fall is in the air … or at least the calendar would have us believe that this is the case. 8News gives you the rundown of this weekend’s great eight happenings.

Here is this weekend’s list of events:

MULTI-DAY EVENT

International Poe Film Festival: The Poe Museum, in partnership with the Byrd Theater, hosts a festival to showcase the best in Edgar Allan Poe movies of the past ninety years from around the world.

When: Sept. 22 – 24

Where: Poe Museum, Good Goat Gallery, Byrd Theater, Cultural Art Center at Glen Allen

Cost: $5 – $75

Virginia State Fair: games, rides, vendors,facepaint, fair food, musical performances

When: Sept. 23 – Oct. 2

Fridays and Saturdays – 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Sundays – 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Monday through Thursday – 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Where: 13191 Dawn Boulevard, Doswell, Virginia 23047

Cost: Adults – $15, Children – $11, Children under 4 – free with paying adult, Seniors – $11, Military – $11, Unlimited Ride Wristband – $25

Richmond Italian Festival: Richmond’s 17th Street Market will become an Italian village the weekend.The festival’s mission is to promote Italian culture and heritage through the venue of a festival that generates revenues to be distributed to selected local charities.

When: Sept. 24, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Sept. 25 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Where:17th Street Farmer’s Market, 100 North 17th Street, Richmond, Virginia 23219

Cost: free, but donations welcome, plus the price of food and other items

Saturday

Virginia Pridefest: State-wide annual celebration held in an effort to unite the LGBT communities throughout the state and to instill pride, celebrate unity and embrace diversity in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

When: 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Where: Brown’s Island, South 7th Street, Richmond, Virginia 23219

Cost: free, but donations are welcome

Trails and Ales: 2nd annual trail running event, where runners will have two distance options to choose from before finishing at a beer festival, where local craft brews, music, and friends await

When: 4:30 p.m.

Where: Manchester at 10th and Semmes

Cost: $55

Perpetual Groove: The Athens, Georgia-based band’s music has evolved into a genre-bending, original sound that touches upon jazz-rock, neo-psychedelia, R&B, trance electronica, progressive rock, and anthemic arena rock; Live at the National

When: 8 p.m.

Animal on the Rooftop: A rooftop party on Richmond’s Hoffheimer building, featuring dj’s and dancing in a queer-friendly environment

When: 9 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Where: Hoffheimer building, 2818 West Broad Street, Richmond, Virginia 23230

Cost: $8 in advance, $12 at the door

Sunday

Beast Feast 2016: A collaboration between Preservation Virginia and Belmont Butchery, this event promotes local farms, area chefs and the traditions of food, history and fun
