2 people injured after 5-vehicle accident on I-95 north

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Two people are injured after a 5-vehicle accident on I-95 North near the Boulevard on-ramp.

As of 10 a.m., all lanes are back open after the accident caused major backups — at times spanning 7.5 miles.

According to State Police, a four-runner Toyota driver rear-ended two vehicles causing a chain reaction. The passenger of Toyota sustained minor injuries and another person from a different vehicle was rushed to the hospital.

There’s no word yet on the severity of the injuries at the hospital, but stay with 8News as we continue to monitor this developing story.
