RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — VCU Police are investigating after a student reported that they were sexually assaulted over the weekend.

According to an alert from VCU, the alleged incident took place in the early-morning hours of Sunday, September 18 at an on-campus residential housing facility. Authorities say the suspect was known to the survivor.

You may recall that after four sexual assaults were reported in a month’s span back in August, the university held a forum to educate students about what constitutes sexual assault and what resources are available to them.
