Tractor-trailer hauling cornbread catches fire on I-95 south

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A tractor-trailer fire causes backups and delays on Interstate 95 southbound in Richmond near Bells Road Wednesday morning.


State Police tell 8News around 1:30 a.m., a tractor-trailer hauling cornbread was driving southbound on I-95 when the trailer caught on fire.

The tractor could not separate itself from the fiery trailer, but luckily the fire was extinguished and the driver made it out OK with no injuries.

As of 10:20 a.m., all lanes are back open and congestion is slowly clearing.
