RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — 2008 Olympic hurdler and national champion Queen Harrison returned to her alma mater Tuesday to speak to a group of girls.
Harrison said she wanted to provide an example for the girls because she came from exactly where came from and accomplished her dreams.
Harrison competed in the 400-meter hurdles in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She also won three national titles at Virginia Tech and just barely missed making the Rio Olympic team. The American hurdlers went on to sweep the 400 meter hurdles medal podium.
Hermitage will induct Harrison into its Hall of Fame Friday.
