RPD officer bitten trying to break up fight in Richmond’s Southside

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Richmond Police officer was bitten today during an altercation that took place at a McDonald’s restaurant in southside Richmond Sunday.

The incident occurred in the restaurant’s parking lot in 6800 block of Midlothian Turnpike when police responded to the scene of a fight.

When they arrived and tried to break up the fight, a female officer was bitten on the arm.

Shortly thereafter, more units arrived and the fight was soon dispersed.

Charges are now pending for those involved in the fight, although it is unclear how it began.

It is not clear at this time who bit the officer.
