Another person injured in assault near VCU’s campus

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — For the second night in a row, a male victim was assaulted in the Fan neighborhood, adjacent to VCU’s campus.

This time, the assault occurred on the 800 block of West Grace Street around 2:50 a.m. when the victim was unexpectedly punched in the face while crossing the street.

The victim then ran westbound into the 900 block of West Grace Street, where he contacted police.

It is not clear which direction the suspect fled.

The victim was treated for a chipped tooth.

The suspect is described as a black male of medium build. At the time of the accident, the suspect was wearing a red hat and a white shirt.

The suspect was also in a group with several others, but none of them participated in the assault.
