Closures along West Broad Street starting Sunday as work begins on Maggie Walker Memorial

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Parts of West Broad Street will be closed for work on the Maggie Walker Memorial and Public Plaza starting Sunday.

As part of this construction project, crews will be cutting down the oak tree at the intersection of Brook Road and Broad Street that has been the center of much controversy as of late.

The work in the area will run through Tuesday.

Drivers should seek alternative routes when possible.
