VUU, VSU brace for road tilts this weekend

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia Union came into the season expected to be a player in the CIAA picture, Virginia State was thought to be rebuilding. After two weeks of the regular season, Virginia State has the better record and better numbers than their neighboring rival on Lombardy Ave.

The Panthers are 0-2 with losses to LIU-Post at home and Newberry College on the road. They travel to Winston-Salem State, the preseasons favorite to win the CIAA this year, on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.

The Trojans are 2-0 with wins over Lenoir-Rhyne on the road and Tusculum at home. They head to Kentucky St. for their road game Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Va. State currently leads the CIAA Northern division ahead of Bowie State.
