Farm hosts ‘goat yoga’ classes

ALBANY, OR (WCMH) — A Washington farm that became an internet sensation after the debut of ‘goat yoga’ says it may start offering the class year-round.

Goat yoga is the brainchild of Lainey Morse.

“Even when they chew their cud they kind of go into a meditative state, and so it just seemed like it went well together,” Morse told KATU. “With how things are going on right now, this is a great distraction.”

Morse says she has a waiting list of more than 500 people, but so far the program has been limited to summer months. Morse tells KATU she is considering using a covered arena to offer the classes year-round.

One attendee says she finds the class delightful. “They’ve been running all over our mats, and they’ve been trying to eat the mats. It’s been so much fun. They love to be scratched and petted, so friendly. And they’ve been head butting and playing around, and it’s been so much fun to watch them, they’re really funny.”

It’s all fun and games until a goat eats the yoga mat.
