Missing, endangered woman and infant located, safe

UPDATE: Both Josiah Reese and his mother, Alyssa Childs, have been located and are safe. 

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Prince William County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing, endangered adult and infant, Alyssa Shantice Childs and Josiah Gabriel Reese.

On September 13 at 11:48 p.m., officers responded to the 9500 block of Fairview Ave in Manassas to investigate a missing person.

The investigation revealed that Childs voluntarily left her residence located in the 7600 block of Cass Place in Manassas at approximately 7 p.m. that evening.

Childs was observed getting into her vehicle with her child, Josiah.

Police believe Childs may be in need of assistance which qualifies her as being endangered.

Due to Josiah’s age and his mother’s possible need of assistance, police are concerned for his welfare which qualifies him as being endangered.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call police at 703-792-6500.

Alyssa Shantice Childs is described as a 27-year-old black female, 5’4’’, and 190lbs. She has brown eyes and black hair. Her last known clothing description is unknown.

Josiah Gabriel Reese is described as a 7-month-old black male with brown eyes and short black hair. His last known clothing description is unknown.

Childs was last observed getting into a silver Volkswagen Minivan with unknown Virginia Temporary plates.
