RPD investigating after man shot near Jefferson Park; teen suspect in custody

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Police in Richmond are investigating after one person was shot in the area of Jefferson Park Monday evening.

Police say they responded to the shooting at roughly 6:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Princess Anne Avenue. When they arrived, they found a black male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said Monday night that a teen suspect was in custody, although charges have yet to be filed.
