Incident leaves hundreds without power in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — More than 600 homes and businesses are without power in Richmond after a vehicle struck power lines in the 600 block of Bainbridge Street.

The incident occurred at roughly 3:15 p.m. Police say the vehicle briefly caught fire, but that no one was injured. According to a property manager, a piece of construction equipment made contact with the power lines, sparking the fire and the outage.
