Man shot, killed in Virginia Beach nightclub during Jeezy event

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Officers are investigating a shooting at a nightclub early Saturday morning that left one man dead.

Officers responded to Club Embassy in the 5400 block of Virginia Beach Boulevard around 1:35 a.m. after dispatchers received a call about a victim with a gunshot wound.

When they arrived, they found a man shot to death, according to Officer Linda Kuehn, a spokesperson for the Virginia Beach Police Department.

Rap artist Jeezy hosted a birthday performance at the club, according to a post on his Facebook page promoting the event.

Neighbors said this isn’t the first time they’ve seen violence at the club.

“You got glass bottles of beer and liquor up and down the street here,” resident Pamela Credle said. “You can’t get into the [apartment] complex, because they are parked and double parked on the street and you have some instances where you hear gunfire.”

Detectives have not identified any suspects. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
