Vigil held in Petersburg for Dinwiddie County man shot, killed by his brother

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — A vigil will be held Wednesday night in Petersburg for the Dinwiddie County man who was killed by his brother.

Investigators said 25-year-old Brandon Coles was shot and killed by his own brother, Terrell Coles, 24, who is a Dinwiddie Sheriff’s Deputy.

Terrell Coles is currently being held in Dinwiddie County jail without bond and is charged with second-degree murder.

The vigil is being held at 5705 Weakley Road in Petersburg from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Dinwiddie County High School class president of 2009 is asking members of that class to wear all white.

He is also asking the community to donate to Brandon’s GoFundMe account that can be found here.
