PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — The city of Petersburg has made a payment of $125,465.30 Thursday night after not paying their trash bill since May.
The Central Virginia Waste Management Authority (CVWMA) says it was a little more than the July payment requested.
The payment comes after the city owed more than half a million dollars in back bills.
The company is asking for the city to come up with a payment plan for the remaining past due balances by August 26.
After that decision is made, they will meet with the team and make sure it works for both the city and the company.
The company is not suspending services for now.
