10-year-old wins settlement after getting bitten by camel at Virginia zoo

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The family of a 10-year-old girl bitten by a camel at the Virginia Safari Park is getting a settlement of $155 thousand.

Madison Holland’s deal includes allotments for medical and legal expenses, a lump sum when she turns 18, and then 14 years of annuity payments.

Madison was hospitalized for three days after the bite on the arm and permanently scarred.

Her attorney says the bite nearly reached the bone.
