Teen enters Alford plea in Chesterfield store clerk’s murder

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The teen charged in the death of a convenience store owner enters an Alford plea in court Thursday morning.

Back in January, 55-year-old Harshad Patel was shot and killed at a convenience store he owned with his wife off of Walmsley Boulevard. The man charged in his death, Trayvon Wilhite, entered an Alford plea for his first-degree murder charge.


Wilhite pleaded guilty to his other charges that included attempted robbery, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and conspiracy to commit robbery.

His sentencing is set for November 15.
