Second OTB to open in Shockoe Bottom

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Off-track betting is returning to Richmond. The Virginia Equine Association announced Thursday an agreement to put an OTB at the former Tiki Bob’s site on 18th St in Shockoe Bottom.

Back in June, 8News was first to tell you that the Virginia Racing Commission is giving Breaker’s Sports Bar and Grille on Broad Street in Henrico County the green light for satellite wagering.

Breaker’s will have four self-service machines and eight signals to likely watch races in New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, and California.

The two OTB’s will be the first in the state since Colonial Downs shuttered its parlors more than a year ago. The betting location in Shockoe Bottom is set to open sometime this fall.

8News Anchor Kerri O’Brien will have more on the plans for the OTB’s and when they will open tonight on 8News.
