CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A lightning strike set a North Chesterfield home on fire Wednesday evening.
The fire began around 9 p.m. on the corner of Pineridge Lane and Sweet Willow Drive.

Eyewitnesses said they saw flames and heavy smoke reaching as high as ten feet above the roof of the house.
A neighbor said this isn’t the first time a tragedy has struck the home.
” About two years ago, we had a really bad hurricane come through,” said Mark Parrish. “A tree fell on his house, wiped it out, and he was out for about six months. Then this happens — he’s not having real good luck.”
The homeowners say they just finished a kitchen remodel, but the good news is that no one was injured in the incident.
