Best friends in Norfolk share million dollar lottery prize

NORFOLK, Va. (WRIC) — A pair of friends from Norfolk received a $1 million lottery prize Wednesday.

The pair said they intend to split the winnings.

Jennifer Molina and Lucinda Britt said they have been best friends for ten years. Molina is engaged to marry Britt’s brother.

Britt’s brother actually bought the winning ticket for his sister and fiance.

Britt described how she found out they had won.

“[Britt’s brother] started screaming, ‘We’ve got the numbers! We’ve got the numbers!'” Britt recalled. “I thought he was going to have a heart attack. I jumped off the bed and nearly did a cartwheel.”

The ticket was purchased at Smoke Shack at 3038 Ballentine Boulevard in Norfolk. The pair gets to keep the full $1 million prize, which is factored after taxes.
