BLACKSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — Jerod Evans or Brenden Motley?
That’s the question Vrginia Tech fans have wanted the answer two for months now, and Tuesday night new Hokies Head Coach Justin Fuente said he did not have an answer yet and wasn’t sure when he would.
Fuente told members of the media after practice that he had no timetable for naming a starter. Motley is the incumbent, sort of, in that he has been in the program his entire college career and started six games when Michael Brewer was injured in 2015.
Evans transferred into Virginia tech from a junior college in Texas.
Fuente is on the record saying that the choice is between those two, but that is about as specific as he has gotten. He did say the qualities he wants out of a quarterback are calmness under pressure and the ability to take care of the football by avoiding turnovers.
