Virginia Union football focused on the present as camp begins

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Virginia Union Panthers football program attained its goal of making the NCAA D-II playoffs last season, they’re ready to do it again.

The Panthers return 17 seniors to the roster, and impact players Shawheem Dowdy at quarterback and Hakeem Holland at running back.

Head Coach Mark James has his ball club living day by day, not living in their past success a season ago.

Virginia Union opens its schedule on September 3rd against LIU-Post at Hovey Field, kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
