Authorities local missing Caroline County postal worker

UPDATE: Craig Lewis was located Wednesday evening at a Fredericksburg-area hospital, according to Caroline County Sheriff Tony Lippa.

Lippa said the sheriff’s office received a tip shortly after 6 p.m. stating that Lewis was at the local hospital. A deputy then went to the hospital to confirm his identity.

“I am pleased that we were able to assist the Lewis family and to bring closure to this case.  I truly want to thank the media and concerned citizens for their help.”


CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police in Caroline County are hoping the public can help them locate a missing 57-year-old man who could be without his needed medication.

Craig Lewis was reported missing to the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office by family members on August 3, 2016. He was last seen by family members on July 28 when he left to go to his job with the U.S. Postal Service in Richmond, VA.

He suffers from a medical condition and is believed to be without his needed medication.

Investigators believe that Lewis may be in danger and are asking anyone with information pertaining to Lewis’ whereabouts to call the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office at (804) 633-5400. Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call the CCSO anonymous tip line at (804) 633-1133 or the Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000. Crime Stoppers offers rewards of up to $1000.00 for successful tips.
