Deputies in Gloucester searching for burglar who decapitated pet dog

GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — The Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office says someone broke into a home and decapitated a pet dog.

Some time between the late night hours of Wednesday, July 27 and the mid-morning of Thursday, July 28, someone entered a home in the 7900 block of Gum Neck Landing and decapitated the dog. Nothing else in the home was disturbed or stolen.

A necropsy was performed on the dog.

Authorities say they will not be releasing any more information because an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
