3 Virginia airports to share $2 million for improvements

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The U.S. Department of Transportation is giving $2 million to local airports to improve pavement and safety conditions.

U.S. Sens. Tim Kaine and Mark Warner announced the spending on Friday.

It includes $1 million to Dinwiddie County Airport and Industrial Authority for pavement work, $618,000 for tree removal at the Front Royal airport and $125,000 in pavement work at the Culpeper Regional Airport.

Kaine and Warner announced more than $10 million in federal funding earlier this month to airports in Richmond and Norfolk.
