SUSSEX COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A four-mile backup remains as of 5:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon on I-95 southbound near mile marker 26 in Sussex County. This is about three miles south of where Route 40 intersects with I-95.

The backup is the result of a vehicle accident in the area. No other information about the accident is available at this time.

The Virginia Department of Transportation says that cleanup is expected to continue for another hour. As a result, drivers are told to expect delays.

All lanes of the highway are now open, but residual delays remain.
