Forest Hill Avenue reopens after suspected drunk driver crashes into utility pole

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Forest Hill Avenue has reopened near Glyndon Lane in Richmond following an early-morning crash on Friday.

The crash occurred when a vehicle collided with a power pole on Forest Hill Avenue. The vehicle knocked the pole and wires over onto the roadway, while the vehicle continued into the ditch.

Two more vehicles then arrived at the scene and collided with the pole and wires, causing damage to those vehicles.

The woman who’s vehicle initially crashed into the pole was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

She has been charged with a DUI.

Police were not yet willing to release the woman’s name or other information about her.
