Suspect punches man in face, steals wallet near VCU campus

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia Commonwealth University Police are searching for a robbery suspect after a student was robbed Monday night on the 1100 block of Grace Street near Lombardy Street.

Police were called to the scene after a robbery was reported to the Richmond Police Department at 1125 W. Grace St. at 6:46 P.M

According to VCU Police, the victim reported that he was approached by the suspect, asking for change for a $5 bill. The suspect punched the victim in the face, taking the victim’s wallet and fleeing southbound towards the south alley.

The suspect is described as a black male, mid 30’s, 5’8,” dark complexion, wearing a dark hat, long black shirt, white tennis shoes and carrying a bookbag.
