Shot fired in attempted robbery at Carytown Walgreens

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Police are looking for a suspect who they have yet to identify, who was involved in an attempted robbery at the Walgreens Pharmacy in Carytown today.

At around 9 a.m. Saturday morning, officers arrived at the Walgreens located at 3520 Ellwood Avenue in response to a reported attempted robbery.

The suspect walked up to the counter with a handgun and demanded money. Before leaving the store, the suspect fired one shot from the gun. No one was injured by the gunshot.

The suspect was last seen fleeing by foot in the direction of Floyd Avenue. Police say no money was taken from the store.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, approximately 20 years old who is 5’10” tall and weighs about 150 pounds. At the time of the incidenthe wore a white t-shirt, with a black long sleeve shirt underneath, blue jeans, a black hat and red and white shoes.
