CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Chesterfield County Police Department has identified the driver killed in a single-vehicle crash that occurred in the 1900 block of Walthall Creek on Monday morning.
Police said the vehicle, a 2006 Nissan Maxima driven by Griffin W. Clark, 21, ran off the road, struck a brick retaining wall at the entrance to a driveway, and overturned.
Clark, of the 1700 block of Walthall Creek Drive, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say Clark was not wearing a seatbelt.
Police continue their investigation, but say at this point in time, it appears speed was a factor in the crash.
According to the Saint Leo University men’s golf site, Clark was a sophomore criminal justice major.
