Highland Park shooting suspect sought in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond Police are asking for help to find a suspect in connection with a shooting that took place a week ago in Highland Park.

The suspect, Kamaria M. Walker, a 19-year-old, is wanted on charges of malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

At approximately 10:25 p.m. on June 26, officers responded to VCU Medical Center after a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound was brought into the emergency room with life-threatening injuries. Investigation determined the shooting occurred in the 2100 block of 1st Avenue.

Walker is described as a 5’5” tall, black female with a medium complexion, black hair and brown eyes, who weighs approximately 170 pounds. She is believed to be driving a gold Toyota Corolla. She is known to frequent the Northside area of Richmond, specifically The Flats apartment complex.

Walker is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone who sees her should call police immediately.
