VCU alumni Johnson, Burgess take next step in pro careers

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — On the same day the Houston Rockets announced Melvin Johnson would be a part of their NBA Summer League team, fellow Ram Bradford Burgess re-signed with his Hungarian professional team.

Johnson will play in the Las Vegas Summer League, which begins July 8th. The Rockets’ first game is at 5:00 PM PT / 8:00 PM ET and will be broadcast on either ESPN or NBA TV. Fellow VCU alumni Treveon Graham and Briante Weber will also participate in NBA Summer League.

Burgess has been playing in Europe since he graduated from VCU in 2012. He signed on with Hungary’s Alba Fehervar to play his 5th professional season.
