Kickers draw, Black Widows advance, Squirrels slip up

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Saturday night was a busy one for Richmond sports.

The Richmond Kickers ended in a scoreless draw with Bethlehem Steel FC, the second such result this season at City Stadium.

The Richmond Black Widows women’s football team continued its historic run in its inaugural year as a program by defeating the Keystone Assault 14-8 in the WFA Tier III semifinal. The Black Widows will play in the championship game July 22nd.

The Flying Squirrels led 2-1 heading into the sixth inning against the B-Mets in Binghamton before Tyler Mazenko gave up the lead and the game 4-3. It’s the fourth loss in their last five road games this week, the trip ends Sunday in Binghamton at 1:05 p.m.
