Shooting in Richmond’s east end under investigation; victim dies at hospital

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A man died after suffering multiple gunshot wounds during a shooting in Richmond’s east end Friday night.

Richmond Police said they responded to reports of a shooting in the 2200 block of Ford Avenue at around 7 p.m. When they arrived, they found 37-year-old James M. Williams suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to VCU Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police said they are looking for an adult light-skinned black male who was wearing a red shirt and dark blue pants at the time of the incident.
