North Carolina man struck, killed by train in Richmond’s Shockoe Valley

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A North Carolina man was killed after being hit by a train in Richmond Tuesday night.

The incident occurred at roughly 8:30 p.m. Police say they were called to the area of the 2400 block of Magnolia Court for a report of a person struck by an eastbound CSX freight train.

When they arrived, they found 50-year-old Albert Reid of North Carolina and pronounced him dead at the scene. A train employee reported that Reid had been walking on the tracks when he was struck.
