ORLANDO (MEDIA GENERAL) – Among the victims of Sunday’s nightclub massacre in Orlando was a mother of 11 who beat cancer twice.

According to a GoFundMe account set up for Brenda Lee Marquez McCool, the 49-year-old was a single mother who leaves behind seven boys and four girls.

She went to Pulse Nightclub Saturday night with her son Isaiah Henderson, something she often did.

She posted video from the dance floor to her Facebook page shortly after midnight, just two hours before gunman Omar Marteen entered the club and opened fire, killing 49 people and wounding 53 others.

Henderson was also hit by the gunfire but survived.

McCool was described by many as the “mom of Pulse” with a smile that could brighten your day.

Tributes posted on social media were tagged #PulseMom.

A video posted to Instagram shows McCool having a great time dancing just a few hours before she was killed.

By midday Tuesday, the GoFundMe account set up by McCool’s son, Farrell Marshal, had raised nearly $20,000.

The money will help pay for funeral expenses and support McCool’s children.
