4th District Congressional Primaries today

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — As a result of redistricting, primary elections to nominate candidates for the 4th Congressional District of Virginia will be held in the Richmond and Tri-cities metropolitan area on Tuesday.

Voters in this district include anyone who lives in Charles City County, Chesapeake City, Chesterfield County, Colonial Heights City, Dinwiddie County, Emporia City, Greensville County, Henrico County, Hopewell City, Petersburg City, Prince George County, Richmond City, Southampton County, Suffolk City, Surry County, and Sussex County.

4th District voters can choose to vote in either the Republican or Democratic primary election.

On the Democratic side, State Senator A. Donald McEachen, of Richmond, is running against Chesapeake City Councilwoman Ella P. Ward.

In the Republican race, Henrico County Sheriff Michael L. Wade is running against Family Foundation Grassroots Coordinator, Jackee K. Gonzalez, of Chesterfield County.
