COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (FOX21) — An Air Force Thunderbird plane has gone down in southern Colorado Springs.
The plane came down in a grassy area near Fontaine Boulevard, about five miles south of the Colorado Springs Airport.
The Air Force’s Air Combat Command tweeted that the pilot ejected safely and is walking around unhurt. The Thunderbirds squadron is a unit of the Air Combat Command.
The Thunderbirds had just finished a performance at the Air Force Academy’s graduation ceremony where President Barack Obama was speaking.
