RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Just hours after our story about deplorable conditions in a public housing unit airs, we are learning that tenant may be moved.
On Thursday, 8News introduced you today Arshanae Collins. She told us when she complained about a rat in a cupboard under her sink, an exterminator was never called. Instead, the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority plugged the hole with a Brillo pad and then nailed the cupboard shut.
This, among other issues, has Collins worried about the health of her child living in this unit. For about a year she has been asking for a transfer.
On Friday morning, 8News was told that the RRHA met with Collins and appears to be working on a transfer to another apartment.
