CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WRIC) — An adult male and 4-year-old child was struck by a vehicle Monday morning at Falling Creek Elementary School.

Chesterfield Police say a county utilities vehicle was backing out of the general delivery when the adult male carrying a 4-year-old child walked behind the vehicle.

The vehicle backed up into the man and child, who were then knocked down.

The child was transported to the hospital as a precaution but had non-life threatening injuries.

Police said charges in the case are still pending.
