81-year-old Spotsylvania man with Alzheimer’s found safe

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va (WRIC)  — The Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office announced that Ronald Eugene Jackson, 81, of Spotsylvania County, was located Monday morning.

Jackson was the subject of a Virginia Silver Alert, when he left his home on Sunday and never returned.

Police say he had driven his vehicle to Pennsylvania and ran out of gas in the Radnor, Penn., Township.

Jackson was then contacted by local law enforcement and they responded to the Silver Alert, which was sent out by the Virginia State Police.

Authorities say Jackson is in good health and his family members have been contacted to arrange for his safe return home.

“We are thrilled and relieved that Mr. Jackson was found safe and in good health,” Sheriff Harris said. “It’s another example of how the Silver Alert and cooperative efforts between public safety agencies work so well.”
