CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va (WRIC) — Chesterfield Police officers and Chesterfield residents came together Saturday to participate in Hoops for Hope.
The event took place at Rollingwood Apartments.
Police took time out to played basketball with kids in the area. They also shared lunch with the residents in the neighborhood.
The goal of the event was to break barriers and build relationships within the community.
Office K.C. Car says this is a nice way to have fun and build relationships.
“To actually see them and come out and have fun with them, and see the person outside the uniform and get to know them and have fun with them and build that relationship with fun activities,” said Car.
