RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — There are five days left for you to get a T-shirt that honors fallen Virginia State Police Trooper Chad P. Dermyer.
Trooper Dermyer was killed in the line of duty on March 31 after a gunman opened fire during a VSP training exercise at a Greyhound bus station in Richmond. He is survived by a wife and two young children.
At last check, the fundraiser sold more than 6,000 shirts — far more than the 5,000 shirt goal.
The proceeds from the sales go to Trooper Dermyer’s widow and children. So far, $127,390 has been raised.
The woman that began the T-shirt sale writes: “I am no one special. I am a trooper’s wife who hopes that if this ever happened to my family, that someone would be willing to help me.”
