Police arrest driver after attempted traffic stop turns into pursuit

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police took a driver into custody after an attempted traffic stop turned into a pursuit early Thursday morning.

At 3:19 a.m., a Chesterfield County Police officer attempted to pull over a driver in the 6600 block of Hull Street Road for speeding and reckless driving. The driver sped off into the city and crashed into a parked car near Elkhart Road and Kirby Road.

The person was arrested with the assistance of Richmond Police and was taken to the hospital with minor, non-life threatening injuries.

No one else was injured and charges are pending.
