South Richmond fire station temporarily closed

Richmond Fire Station 22

RICHMOND (WRIC) – A Richmond Fire Department station in South Richmond is closing temporarily while the building’s roof is replaced.

Fire Station 22, located on Broad Rock Boulevard, has been closed and a time table has not yet been set for when it will reopen. Fire department personnel from the station have been moved to neighboring stations, according to RFD public information officer Lt. Chris Armstrong.

The department announced the closure in an email release Saturday morning, saying the closure is a precautionary measure.

According to Armstrong, the closure will have minimal impact on response times for the area served by Fire Station 22.
