100-year-old Red Cross volunteer gets congressional recognition

(WBAY) — A 100-year-old volunteer at the American Red Cross office in Green Bay is being recognized by Congress.

Rep. Reid Ribble says he’ll present Blanche Baudhuin with an entry from the Congressional Record honoring her life and service.

He plans to visit her Monday morning.

Action 2 News introduced you to Blanche last month. For the past 45 years she’s volunteered for the Red Cross in blood services every Thursday. She’s believed to be the longest-serving Red Cross volunteer in the nation.

To celebrate her birthday, the Red Cross held a blood drive to collect 100 units of blood. It reached that goal.
