Henrico Police arrest, charge man in connection to 2 armed robberies

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police have arrested a suspect in connection to two armed robberies.

Henrico Police say that 20-year-old Talonte De’Von Ridley was identified as a suspect in an armed robbery at 3:43 a.m. on April 16 at a business in the 4600 block of Williamsburg Road and another armed robbery at 2:11 a.m. on April 17 at a business in the 3700 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike.

Officers were called to the 4600 block of Williamsburg Road for a commercial robbery at 3:43 a.m. on April 16.

The victim told police that two black males entered the business, approached the register and asked for tobacco products. The victim requested identification and the suspect displayed a firearm and demanded currency. The victim complied and the suspects fled the business with currency and the tobacco products.

There were no injuries reported.

At 2:11 a.m. on April 17, officers responded to the 3700 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike for a commercial robbery.

The victim reported to police that two males and a female entered the business, removed items from a shelf and approached the register. When the victim rang up the items, one of the males flashed a firearm and demanded money. The manager called police and the suspects fled without getting any money.

There were no injuries reported.

There were outstanding warrants charging Ridley with robbery, attempted robbery, two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery.

Officers found Ridley and took him into custody. During the arrest, officers located a concealed firearm on Ridley’s person. He was also charged with concealed weapon and possession of firearm by felon.
